Briefs to 5 Judge cases: Original & 7 copies No Cost
Motion to extend page limitation: original motion only $25.00 filing fee.
Request for Oral Argument: Original only No Cost to file.
Motion to dismiss an appeal that already has a Third Circuit Docket Number: Original & 4 copies $25.00 filing fee.
Motion to Dismiss an unlodged appeal: Original & 4 copies $80.00 filing fee.
Answer to Appeal: Original & 4 copies $70.00 filing fee or $0.00 filing fee if appellee is a pauper.
Writ Application: Original & 3 Copies $80.00 filing fee in civil cases only. Writs that are received without filing fees will not be filed. No filing fee is required in criminal writ applications.
Oppositions to writ applications: Original & 3 copies No filing fee. A rule addressing the time to file an opposition to a writ does not exist. Dates to file oppositions are set on an individual basis.
Requests for extensions of time to file: Original motion only $25.00 filing fee. In criminal appeals, no extensions to file briefs will be granted.
Application for Rehearing: Original & 4 copies $70.00 Charge
All motions filed in an appeal or writ that already have a Third Circuit Docket Number: Original $25.00 filing fee.
Motion for leave to File Amicus Curiae Brief: $100.00 filing fee.
